Religion: Parts of the Mass 

Reading: Bunnicula: We will finish the novel this week and begin our in-depth response to the novel. RL.4.3 Describe in depth a character, setting, or event in a story or drama, drawing on specific details in the text (e.g., a character’s thoughts, words, or actions) 

Writing: Halloween Haunted House Advertisements plus begin Halloween narratives CCSS.ELA-LITERACY.W.4.3. Write narratives to develop real or imagined experiences or events using effective technique, descriptive details, and clear event sequences.

Science: Light, eyes, and vision In this lesson, students discover the basics of how their eyes work, and figure out some of the causes of vision problems.

Second Step Unit 2: Emotional Management The goals of this unit include students being able to:

  • Use helpful questions to think about new aspects of the situation
  • Identify new ways to think about situations that could help them feel better
  • Explain why it’s important to calm strong emotions
  • Describe the benefits of rethinking

Religion: Mary, the Mother of God and Celebrate Mass on Wednesday

Math: Part two of Chapter 1 test covering 4.NBT.4 and beginning chapter two:  Multiply a whole number of up to four digits by a one-digit whole number, and multiply two two-digit numbers, using strategies based on place value and the properties of operations.4.NBT.5 

Science: We begin our unit on the Human Machine. In this unit, students investigate structures and functions of the human body. Students explore how our bones and muscles are interconnected, how our eyes interact with light and impact our vision, and how our brain responds to stimuli in our environment.

Social Studies: Symbols and Geography of Washington State. Plus Hispanic Heritage Month
