Last Full Week

Countdown to summer has begun but academics are still happening around here. Short reading and writing unit on poetry. In science students students will make a flashlight and in Social Studies we will readh our final destination, the Oregon territory.

Some Items to Note

  • Last week for hot lunch.
  • Math: Simple Solutions Workbook: Ms Martin began piloting this program mid-year so don’t be surprised when it is not finished. It would be great practice for students over the summer. We loved the format of this book and grades 3-5 will be using it next year in addition to the math curriculum.
  • This week I will send home copies of the beginning and end of the year writing assessment. I will ask the students to share these with you so you can celebrate their growth.
  • Hygiene Drive Service Project: We have had a great response so far from both preschool and 4thgrader.THANK YOU!
  • Please sign and return Field Day Permission Slips

Happy Mother’s Day

Hello MAY

The month of May is dedicated to Mary, the Mother of God. As a class we will pray a decade of the Rosary daily. If students have rosaries at home, I encourage them to bring them to school. We will also focus on our saint of the month Blessed Chiara Luce Badano. Students will be encouraged to be like Blessed Chiara in learning how to resolve conflicts, set goals, and explore the Catholic Social Justice Teaching of Rights and Responsibilities.
