February 22

Now that we are settling into our hybrid routine, I want to stress the importance of joining Zoom class times. I am teaching both the in person and at home learners together throughout most of the day. For this reason, it is imperative that students join via ZOOM in order to receive complete instruction. At home learners will have breaks at 9:45- 10:00 am and 11:30- 12:30 (lunch).  At all other times students are expected to be working as a class via Zoom.  At home learners participate in Art one morning a week and have a special session with Mrs. Morris Monday-Thursday in the afternoon. Spanish and Music classes are in the afternoon for at home learners only.
Students who are quarantined due to travel are expected to stay on-line with their purple/gold cohorts.
Academics:
Writing:  Compare and Contrast Essay. Focus on using fourth grade level word choice, grammar and editing skills. I prefer students do drafts in their writing notebook. Students who choose to type drafts and are in hybrid, will need to print their work progress for on campus workdays. This is a two-week project.
Math: Multiples, Factors, Prime and Composite Numbers and Patterns. Math Test this Wednesday/Thursday. CCSS.MATH.CONTENT.4.OA.B.4  and  CCSS.MATH.CONTENT.4.OA.C.5
Reading with Mrs Halley: RL.4.6 Compare and contrast the point of view from which different stories are narrated, including the difference between first- and third-person narrations
Social Studies: Begin learning about the Oregon Trail. Discuss the overlooked African American contributions and impact on African Americans during the time of the Oregon Trail.
Religion: We continue to discuss Lent.
